More thing coming off the bucket list.....
14.12.2016 - 31.12.2016
We travelled south from Gloucester to Singleton and then through the Yang National Park to Richmond; our base for exploring the Blue Mountains. At Richmond we stayed in a lovely free camp where we enjoyed lovely meals at the local Veterans club. We spent a day up in the Blue Mountains in Leura and Katoomba. Below are some of the photos. The scenery is truely spectacular - the famous Three Sisters, Cable car rides and the beautiful mountain scenery draws bus loads of tourists making it difficult to see some of the attractions. We bought lovely fresh raisin bread in Leura at the markets.
From there we moved onto the coast south of Sydney, via Wollongong with spectacular views out to sea. However the crowds of holiday makers forced us back up the mountains to Jamberoo for the night. A lovely free camp with free swimming pool and lots of backpackers.
The next morning we scrambled up the Macquarie Pass with a few very steep climbs and hairpin corners making it quite a challenging trip to get to Moss Vale where we stayed for two nights to re-charge and relax. (Catching up with all the laundry.) Noelene browsed through the Bradman Cricket Museum and we enjoyed a coffee at the museum.
Today we travelled through Goulburn, the first inland city in Australia, along the Federal Highway past Canberra down to Cooma, the capital of the Snowy Mountains. We are staying in a lovely caravan park for the next four nights from where we will explore the Snowy Mountains and Kosciuszko NP.
Enjoy the photos!
